EMERGENCY EYE EXAMINATION
All of our optometrists at B S Breakwell Optometrists are accredited to deal with emergency eye conditions via the Minor Eye Care Service (MECS). The MECS service is available as an alternative option to presenting at Accident & Emergency or your GP for the diagnosis and treatment of minor eye conditions.
The conditions covered under this emergency service are as follows:

Red eye or eyelids
Dry, gritty or uncomfortable eyes
Eye irritation and inflammation
Ingrowing lashes
Discharge from the eye or watery eye
Recently occurring flashes or floaters
Painful eye
Recent and sudden loss of vision
Foreign body in the eye
We will endeavour to treat the ocular conditions on site, but certain conditions may need further referral, and via numerous pathways that have been established with the local healthcare community, we will discuss and determine the best solution for your needs.
